TOO MANY BOOKS? HELP A GOOD CAUSE

It happens to every book lover sooner or later, all those books you've collected over the years threaten to topple the bookcases. Perhaps you are downsizing, or your children have outgrown certain books, or maybe you just want to make room for new books. Whatever the case, the Friends of the Library will be glad to accept your donations.

stack of books WHAT TO DONATE

The Friends of the Library welcomes donations of gently used books that we can resell in the FOL Bookstore. The store - which raises funds to support the Westminster Library - sells fiction, non-fiction, hardbacks, paperbacks, children's books, cookbooks, self-help books, science fiction, history, travel, and more. We also carry a selection of videos, CD's DVD's, and audio books. Please consider the Friends of the Library if you have items like these to donate.

There are a few items we cannot accept:

  • - Books that are torn, water-damaged, missing pages or in otherwise poor condition. Please save us the trouble by discarding these at home.
  • - Encyclopedias. Unfortunately, few people want encyclopedias in this internet age. And we have no space to store them until the very rare customer requests a set.

Thank you for understanding.

HOW TO DONATE

The Friends of the Library accepts boxes and bags of donations- even single items - during bookstore hours (listed top right). If you have an exceptionally large donation (10 or more containers), please call us ahead of time at 714-898-4245.

The Friends of the Library is a 501c(3) tax-exempt organization so every donor is entitled to claim a tax deduction for usable donations. We will provide a receipt upon request.
